Trout & About is a professionally operated fly fishing instruction, guiding and destination service located right on the Gunpowder River. We offer one and two day fly fishing schools for up to six people and personal on-stream schools for up to two people. Our instructors are led by Trout & About owner Phil Gay who is an FFF Master certified instructor. Phil has also authored two instructional videos, "Practical Fly Casting" and "Presentation Casts for Trout". Call or e- mail to obtain a copy. Our guiding features the Gunpowder River and other select catch and release or special regulation waters in Maryland and central Pennsylvania. We can look at the Gunpowder across the backyard so we know it well and fish it often. Our destination trips are highly select and feature the Harpster water on Spruce Creek in central PA. We have booked 75 days on this fabulous private water in 2005 and will have the same for 2006. These trips include lodging, home cooked meals, an open bar, a selection of complimentary flies, a commenorative ballcop and limited guiding. We also tailor trips to Western Maryland to fish the North Fork of the Potomac, the Savage and the Casselman. We do the same for the Little Juniata in central PA. These trips are typical 2-3 days and include meals and lodging. Call or e-mail for specific details on any of the schools or trips.
