Current Report
The winter season is now well under way and we have had some wonderful river fishing during June. The rivers in the Te Urewera forrest park fished particularly well during the month, yielding around 200 fish for clients, mosly Rainbows, averageing around 4lb, but with the odd nice Brown. Largest fish for the month was an 8lb Rainbow, caught by Brian Linehan of Victoria, Australia, which came out of the Tongariro river. The winter is proving to be a little cooler than usual with typical daytime temperatures of around 45F. A dry winter is forecast, which augers well for spring fishing.
