Current Report
Junin de los Andes Nov. 2004
We fish floating the
Chimehuin river from the reel
factory to the Manzano pool.
The equipment: rods #3 with
sinking tip line and another
#5 with fast sinking line.
The flies: we began at the
morning using a big variety
of flies and the we put the
classic olive and black
woolly buggers.
The fishing: we began fishing
at ten a.m, the day was cold
with a little of sun, the
firsts casts were goods
because we caught some
rainbows of one pound and
some browns of 1.5 pounds,
then we stopped to make fire
because we were really cold
and to have lunch. After of
that we drank coffee with
cookies and continuo with the
cold but great day. When we
pass the barranca de los
loros pool we decided to
stop to see the trouts that
this pool has, who were
eating a lot of may flies and
emergins. Then we continuo
with the fishing casting
under the trees, where we had
a lot of strikes with a black
woolly bugger with blue
flashabou, tied by the guide
Matías Grippo. Under the
trees Javier caught a
beautiful brown with the same
fly and in that moment began
a big fighting between Javier
and the big brown. After the
tired fighting the guide put
the really big brown into the
hand net and he took a great
photo. Javier, Helga y Matías
were were arriving to the
Manzano pool where was
waiting them to bring them to
the town.
