Current Report
Today we went back to Chimehuin, we did the first day float again to see if we could catch those brows that got away in the fights…. The place: Chimehuin river, from the town to manzano pool. The equipment: Rods n° 5 and 6 with floating lines. The flies: All kind of ephemeras, Adams, Blue dun, Massartas, Baetis. Almost at the end of the day we saw a couple of Chiloporters but the real hatch didn’t appear. The fishing: We had a lot of strikes, it was nice to see the trout rising so gently to our flies, but it was hard to hook them up. Sometimes we set the hook before the trout really took the fly so we missed a lot of good trout. Sometimes we saw all the back of the trout out of the water, nice show for the last day of fishing with our good friends John and charly. The weather: Beautiful, a sunny spring time day in the company of good friends and fly fishing. Pablo "Polo" Rossi Guide of Mendoza Fly Shop www.mendozaflyshop.com
