Current Report
Winter fishing is great right now. The Muskegon and Manistee Rivers are both flowing at under 2000 cpfs and have temps in the low to mid 30's. Steelhead in the Muskegon are hot with our guides reporting 4 to 10 hookups daily. The Manistee is not as hot but steelhead are present and catchable. Resident trout are still active near Tippy Dam. Hot flies last week were eggs, especially clown eggs and Oregon cheese. Hawk's Caddis, peacock buggers and small black and brown stones all took fish in the last few days. Read more and learn how to tie these two patterns here http://www.hawkinsflyfishing. com/springsteelhead.php The fish are in full winter mode, look for them in slower pools and near cover. Fish methodically and cover the runs well. The fly has to be on the nose to get a take. Updated fishing reports on these two rivers just follow this link http://www.hawkinsflyfishing. com/conditions.php Tight Lines, Hawk
