Current Report
Winter conditions have
returned to this part of
Michigan but the fishing
continues to be good
overall. The fresh snow
looks awesome in the
pictures lately, and has
kept the fishing pressure
very low.
We've floated the Pere
Marquette the last couple
days and found decent
numbers of fish. Mostly
brighter wild females w/ the
occasional winter male,
averaging 7-9lbs. Water
levels are normal with a
light stain. Water temp. is
33. The fishing has been
best in the early afternoon
with all but one fish this
week coming after 1 o'clock.
Smaller clown eggs, nuke
eggs, and glo-bugs in golden
nugget, Niagra gold,
grapefruit(salmon
egg/chart.), and Oregon
cheese have all hooked fish
recently. Estaz eggs in
peach and light orange.
Haven't hooked any on nymphs
lately but as the water
clear's I'd expect that to
change. Small black
stoneflies will start to
hatch on the warm sunny
afternoons, and will become
important to match. A small
natural Pheasant tail nymph
work's well as a stonefly
imitation.
Dates for late Feb,/early
March still available for
trips. Please check out our

for pictures & the most
updated, honest, fly-
fishing reports for the Pere
Marquette, Muskegon &
Manistee systems. Good
Luck!
