Current Report
Manistee River Fly Fishing Report for June 2008. 6/2/2008 Jon's Guide Service www.jonsguideservice.com (231) 369-2997 - water conditions are normal - Water temp 55-58 degrees - Hatches: March browns, Sulphers, Mahogany duns, Bwo's, Brown drakes, Yellow sally's (small yellow stones), olive stones, Iso's in good numbers. The manistee has great hatch activity at the moment, and evening spinner falls are getting great fish to look up! Streamer fishing has been good on overcast or rainy days. Streamers in Black, olive and white have been working best. Bait fish patterns and lamprey patterns are working well. The lower Manistee river will see summer steelhead action as of the 2-3 week of June. The great "Hex" hatch will start about the third week of June. The weather patterns have put things behind for the season about a week, but warmer temps are getting things back on track. Contact Jon for futher info on booking a great fly fishing trip in Michigan.
