Current Report
The river level is 6.96 and water temps are in the mid 30's. There are a few steelies around but dont count on much. Things aren't going to change unless Mother Nature allows for a winter thaw (accompanied with increased river levels). Just enjoy your time in the outdoors and use it to your advantage- learn the water and practice technique. Someday it will (hopefully) improve.

One-Week Fishing Forecast
Angling is going to be rather slow this winter unless we have a winter warm spell. Water levels and water temps must increase before we get a "good" push of steelhead.

Two-Week Fishing Forecast
More of the same.............

Hatch Info
Surface activity is sporadic at best. Look for tiny midges.

Hot Fly Patterns
Fishing subsurface is always a good bet for trout- indicator nymphing with smaller nymph patterns (#14- 20) . Good choices include tan and olive hares ear, cream/red/blk midge, green and tan caddis larva, pheasant tails, and scud patterns. Pulling streamers can be productive (on the MO) in the Fall and early Winter. Big sculpin and leech patterns are your best bet for both trout and steelhead. Hex, caddis, leech, waxworm and egg patterns will be the call of the day for (trout and) steelies.

River Flows
The river level is at 6.96. Call 231-652-1771 for up to date water levels.

Water Temperature
Water temps are in the mid 30's.

Special Events
Ask about our winter fly tying classes. We have beginner and specialty classes (616-975-3800).
