Current Report
We are now in September and fishing is just great. This season our runs were pretty close to last season, however, very large salmon. The York river had a mid- season count of 1206 salmon ( only ( 29% grilses). The Dartmouth river mid-season count was 755 salmon ( 32 % grilses) and the St-Jean river mid-season count gave 935 salmon ( 32 % grilses. These counts were held in late July, there are much more fish in each river. Water temperature has dropped considerably and pools are now holding 75 to 150 salmon! We are seeing fish 35 to 40 lbs in some pools!. The % grilses in each river should give us an excellent 2005 season ( since these grilses should represent the amount of 10 -13 lbs salmonn for the following year. Our September top ten flies! General Practionner Orange Blossom Royal Coachman Doddi Orange Green Highlander Undertaker Mickey Finn Rusty Rat White Muddler Orange Bomber Three weeks left!! Get your reels screaming!!
