Current Report
Salmon fishing has been great in October on Cape Breton Island. There have been returns in rivers that have not seen fis in five years!!!!! Yes, it's true the salmon are back, BIG TIME!!!! Grand River, has had more fish seen this year than the last three years combined!!!! Margaree had about 700 fish in the Seal pool alone!!!!! There are guides who say this is the most fish they have seen in forever. North River, Middle river, Baddeck river and numerous other rivers have had increases in the number of fish returning. But the best news comes from the rivers that had all but died. I heard that areas that had low to no returns had strong returns of salmon this year. There is currently lots of water. If you plan to come, come soon. Today is the 17 of October and the season closes on the 31 of October. That's all from Cape Breton Island, where the SALMON is KING!!!!!!!!!!!!
