Current Report
Tom and Jack decided to fish the Springs one more time. We first when after a few trout from the other day and then after lunch we fished some new water. The water was clear and 53 degrees. The weather had changed. It was now high thirties, sunny and light wind. As the day went on the temperature did rise into the low fifties. Again, Tom fished dries and landed one rainbow. Jack fished nymphs and broke off a 20"+ brown trout. After lunch we fished in town. Water there was stained and 54 degrees. Some midges and BWO's were hatching. No rising trout could be found. So both Jack and Tom fished nymphs. Jack picked up nine brown trout. Tom landed a beautiful rainbow and three browns. We finished up at 4:30. We all had a great time.

Special Report
The Falling Spring has two special regulation sections. Frist is the fly fishing only section of 2.3 miles long from the Briar Ln. bridge downstream to the wire at Geisle Funeral home. Here you will find the famouse natural reproducing wild rainbows and brown trout. The downtown section is a delayed harvest and is full of many natural reporducing browns and a few rainbows along with holdover browns and stocked browns. For now the Skelly property is posted.

Hatch Info
Midges and few tricos and hatching. Look for BWO's from mid-morning on.

Meet our Guides
I have been fly fishing for more than twenty years, and I've been a professional guide/instructor for ten years and have been affiliated with Orvis for six years. I'm certified by the American Red Cross in CPR and first aid. You may have read some of my articles in Fly Fisherman Magazine, American Angler and Fish&Fly magazine

Fly-fishing Schools
If new to fly fishing I offer beginner classes with equipment provided by Orvis that will put you on the right track, or maybe you need to learn where to find the wary trout that are found in our spring creeks. For this, I offer year round guiding on the Falling Springs, LeTort and Yellow Breeches as well as some other excellent South Central PA streams and will show you how and where to find these trout and techniques and flies used to catch these wild trout. Come late spring, you can join me and fly fish many other area streams that offer the best native brook and wild brown trout fishing there is to offer. Many of these streams are hidden in the beautiful Appalachian Mountain range so don't forget the camera! I also offer destination trips to the Juniata River and Spring creek. The Juniata and Spring creek are two of my favorite streams when I can get away for a day!
