Current Report
05/21/2005- 3pm.-8pm. Little Juniata Rvr. Huntingdon county, southcentral,PA. WEATHER- Partly cloudy to Overcast with mixed rain and wind. WATER Conds.- Decent Level but very low for May but since pretty nice chalky greenish tint.Temp.-high 50F's. FLIES- #16-14 Sulphur nymphs,#12 to 16 Wet Flies and Caddis pupa, and #16 Sulpher Dry. I caught 9, all 9 Browns- Nice average 14- 17"+/- hefty Little J. Browns. And also 2 huge suckers, they can suprize you 1 min. nice fish then AHHH man a sucker. I did pretty much equally good on all flies listed. I did hook and miss alot today at least as many as I caught. Just off my game(timing) today, just couldn't get a good hook into them. Oh Well... next time. HATCHES- sporadic and not real heavy- Sulphurs,BWO,caddis(few different species tny.Blk.,tan, & grn.), craneflies, and midges. SPINNERS- ALOT sulphur spinners toward dark, but not much interest while I was there. RISER- Sporadic. Stopped at the Little J. as usual on my way through the area being unable to find a parking spot as usual (lately). I stopped where I could, and fished awhile, had to skip around alot over a bunch of good water cause of the crowds but managed to get a few cast in here & there. Should have done a little better but I just wasn't "ON" today. Fish seemed to be keying on emergers and hitting flies on the swing which also kinda makes a good hook set tough. Excuses...Excuses... Oh Well.... Later, Joe Ike joeike@keystoneanglingheritag e.com joeikeill@yahoo.com
