Current Report
05/27/2005- 7pm.- 8:45pm. Slate Run Lycoming/Tioga counties, northcentral, Pa. WEATHER- Overcast, cool, light breeze, mid-high 60's. WATER Conds.- Extremely Low and clear.Temp.-forgot? cool 50's? (I HOPE?). FLIES- #14 Grey Fox Dry. I caught 15, 14 Native Brookies 3- 12"(most6-9") and 1 Wild Brown 4-5". Got all fish on fly listed. Also missed and hooked a good bit. HATCHES- Just about everything but the 3 big Drake species. Grey fox, sulphurs,March browns, Slate Drakes,BWO's, Blk. stones, Yellow stones, Many Caddis a few different species, and lots of midges, gnats, and flies. SPINNERS!!!- Grey Fox, Sulphur, and March Browns, probably a few other I can't recall. RISERS- A LOT !!!, way more than I expected with the bad water and Holiday crowds. After driving around awhile looking for John, which later found out was even out of town yet cause of WORK!! We finally ran into each other and headed up the mountain set-up camp. After setting up JOhn had to tie some flies so he insisted I should go fishing so I did. I thought I'll go catch a couple and go back to camp. Well... I was wrong thinking catching one and spooking the rest in the pool with all the action. I Crawled up to the first pool and there was many fish rising I casted an d got one then another ,so on and so on. I only ended up fishing 2 small pools and the very tiny pockets in between them. I guess all the Insect activity had them on the feed and they could care less about the other fish jumping and swimming around franticlly.Wonderful Suprising Evening....
