Current Report
05/28/2005- ?7pm.?-?9:30pm.?
Pine Crk. Lycoming/Tioga
counties, northcentral, PA.
WEATHER- Overcast, cooler
mid-low 60's and cold light
breeze. WATER Conds.- Very
Low and Clear. Temp.-57-59F
(not too Bad) FLIES- #12
Lt.Cahill,#12 Grey Fox, and
#14 Sulphur, all Dries. John
used emergers and nymphs(?I
think March browns?). I
caught 4, 3 Browns 12-13"
and 1 Rainbow15-16". John
caught 2 both Rainbows. I
got all fish on #12 Lt.
Cahill Dry ,I also miss 3
and hooked 1. But, No Luck
on other flies. John got 1
on March Brn. dry and 1 on
emerger. HATCHES- Good
Amounts, Sulphurs, Grey Fox,
March Brns, Slate drakes, a
few Grn. Drakes, Caddis
(many different species),
few Stoneflies(blk.&Yellow),
and lots of midges. SPINNERS-
a few but not many, it
cooler down a little too
much this evening. RISERS-
Enough!!! the water wasn't
boiling but the fish that
were rising were pretty
steady. After, waking up a
little later this morning,
eating breakfast, and than
waiting out the rain and
thunderstroms. John and I
drove around awhile plotting
out our float trip for
Sunday. Doing a little site
seeing and finally we found
a place to fish. There was
fairly large crowds out this
weekend of course.I put
question marks at fishin
time frame cause we did more
waiting and walking than
fishing. I did not see a
fish landed other than what
we caught though.Once the
guys cleared out a little we
got into a nice pool and
John hit the riffle
underneath I patientlly
watched fish rise and work
each, one at a time. Which
worked out all right.
Enjoyable evening....
considering the
weather,water and crowds.
