Current Report
05/30/2005- 3pm.-4pm.
Another Tiny Freestone Mtn.
stream. Lycoming county,
Northcentral, PA. WEATHER-
Overcast, On/Off
Thunderstorms/Rain showers,
Warm High 60's. WATER Conds.-
Low and Clear.Temp.- mid
50F's. FLIES- #18 Tan Caddis
Dry. I caught 16, all native
Brook Trout 3-10". I got all
fish on fly listed, also
missed and hooked many
others. HATCHES- #18 Tan
Caddis, saw a few darker
Mayflies at a distance
(didn't really pay much
attention? Species?), Blk
Caddis, and midges. RISERS-
did notice a few but mainly
blind cast. After eating
breakfast and packing up
camp. John and I took some
pictures of Slate Run and
it's Insects. John decided
to head home, but I stayed
and drove around a little.
Some Bad Storms roled in so
I drove toward clearer
skies. I got to fish for
about a hour. Fished/crawled
about a 100yard section. Did
very well and even saw
another guy fishing as I was
leaving. Once the next storm
rolled in I stood up to
leave and noticed a bigger
fish taking off downstream
12+". Great area, even
though the crowds are
bigger, and fishing worse.
It's just nice to get away.
SORRY.... again for not
posting name of stream. If
you have read any of my post
or messages you should
understand my reasons. Thank
You, Joe Ike
