Little Juniata River

06/12/2005- 7pm.-9pm. Little
Juniata River
Blair/Huntingdon counties,
southcentral, PA. WEATHER-
Overcast/Partly cloudy,
Hot/Humid mid-80's. (Heavy
Rains all weekend,TOO Heavy-
mainly Runoff). WATER Conds.-
Low and Muddy ( Not
extremely low but, well
below Average.)TEMP: Warm 69-
71F. ("BAD WATER CONDS.")
FLIES- #12-16 Wet Flies,#14
Ginger Nymph, and #16 Ike's
APO. I caught 7, All Brown
trout 12-17". I also caught-
1 smallmouth bass, 1 rock
bass, 1 sucker and 1 chub. I
got most on wet flies but, a
few on nymphs. I only missed
a few other and hooked a
couple others. HATCHES-
Nothing special some
sulphurs, tan caddis,
craneflies and midges
nothing heavy, but a few
more at dark. RISERS- saw 1
in the day and 5-7 different
fish rise at dark to the
very small hatches. Debe'
and I stopped at the Little
J. on the way home from a
wedding and I fished a
little while she read a book
and took pictures along the
river's banks.Fishing was a
little tough, BAD water
conds., so I didn't fish too
hard and I managed to catch
some fish and see how the
water and insect activity
was like. Not too good! Pray
for lite steady rains and
cooler weather. Hope this
summer improves as the past
few have, it's not looking
