Current Report
06/24/2005- 8pm.-9pm.-
Loyalhanna Crk. Westmoreland
county, southwest, Pa.
WEATHER- Overcast,
hot/humid/hazy, mid 80's-
low 90's. WATER Conds.- Very
Low, and Clear.TEMP>- still
cool 65-67F. FLIES- #18-20
midge larva, #16-18 Caddis
pupa/wet flies. I caught 1,
Nice Rainbow 18-19" hefty
and healthy. I got it on the
midge larva. I also hooked 3
other trout and missed a few
fish too. HATCHES- some Lt.
Cahills, tan Caddis , and
many Midges/gnats. RISERS-
Did see a good amount of
risers, but think a few may
have been chubs. I haven't
got to fish much recently
cause of business. I wanted
to fish Loyalhanna lately
and had some decent reports
of fair fishing, and water
still cool. I wanted to make
it out earlier to fish with
my little Sister but got a
late start cause of having
to take care of business
around here. She did well
caught 9 trout, Browns,
Brookies, & rainbows.
including a 20" Tiger trout
out of Loyalhanna and 3
brown trout out Mill Crk.
Very good for a Six year
old. I stopped on my way
though to Johnstown and
caught the nice Rainbow,
which happen to one that
snapped my Dad of earlier
that morning. Fishing is
still good there but, the
water is looking bad and
please fight the fish fast
and release them quickly and
safely. Pray for RAIN.
