Current Report
06/26/2005- 4pm.-6pm. Raystown Branch. Bedford county, southcentral, PA. WEATHER- overcast,hot/humid/hazy, mid- 90's. WATER Conds.- Low and stained, chalky tan tint.TEMP.-? forgot Thermo. warm ?high60's-low70's? FLIES- #6 Ike's Crayfish, #8- 10 Whitlock's red fox nymph, & #2 whitlock's near-nuff crayfish. I caught 1- Carp 28-32" 15+lbs., 2- fallfish, 4- smallmouth bass, and 3- Rock Bass. I got most on Ike's Crayfish, but a few on other flies. I had many looks from Carp but, few takes. HATCHES- some damselflies, wht. flies/lt. Cahills?,& midges. RISERS- few small fish and baitfish chasers. I decided to stop and check out a spot on the river I haven't fished for a couple years. It has changed a little for the worse for sight fishing for carp. There was more of a stain to the water and bad glare compared to Dunnings there, which made sight fishing little tough. The carp I did land there was one of my bigger Carp but as I was digging arond for my camera and tape/scale it flopped back into the river. Oh well....Next time.....
