Current Report
Tom, Jack and I knew going in
to today it was going to be
tough to get on the Yellow
Breeches. We arrived at
9:30am and fished until
12:30pm. The weather was
sunny and windy. The run
was clear and 53 degrees
while the breeches was very
high and cloudy. It was
unfishable. The run did have
plenty of midges hatching
bringing just a few trout to
the surface. Jack fished
with nymphs and landed around
8 trout. Tom worked hard to
get a trout to rise. Tom
succeeded four times, but
missed three and then landed
a nice brown trout. After a
quick lunch we headed down to
Big Springs.

River Flows
The Yellow Breeches is
effected by runoff. If the
main stem is high and cloudy
you one can always fish what
the locals call the "run"
which is a spring feeder
found in Boiling Springs.
Meet our Guides
I have been fly fishing for
more than twenty years, and
I've been a professional
guide/instructor for ten
years and have been
affiliated with Orvis for
six
years. I'm certified by the
American Red Cross in CPR
and
first aid. You may have read
some of my articles in Fly
Fisherman Magazine, American
Angler and Fish&Fly magazine
Water Temperature
The run is 50 degrees and
clear. The Yellow Breeches
is 50 degrees
muddy and 4.3'.
Fly-fishing Schools
If new to fly fishing I
offer
beginner classes with
equipment provided by Orvis
that will put you on the
right track, or maybe you
need to learn where to find
the wary trout that are
found
in our spring creeks. For
this, I offer year round
guiding on the Falling
Springs, LeTort and Yellow
Breeches as well as some
other excellent South
Central
PA streams and will show you
how and where to find these
trout and techniques and
flies used to catch these
wild trout.
Come late spring, you
can
join me and fly fish many
other area streams that
offer
the best native brook and
wild brown trout fishing
there is to offer. Many of
these streams are hidden in
the beautiful Appalachian
Mountain range so don't
forget the camera!
I also offer destination
trips to the Juniata River
and Spring creek. The
Juniata and Spring creek are
two of my favorite streams
when I can get away for a
day! Your dream trip is
here. Or you could join me
and fish some of the best
private water on Mossy
creek.

Blue Winged Olive Sets
Yes, it is time to start
thinking of the first mayfly
hatch of the season. Soon
the air will be filled with
our little olive friend we
know as the BWO. You will
find this mayfly on just
about every trout stream
around. Trout will also be
feeding from bottom to top so
I have put together a 32 fly
set for such occasions. I
have also added a
nymph/streamer special for
underwater fishing. Both
these sets will
be offered until April 22,
2007.
