Current Report
Feb. 6, 2005. A friend and I spent Super bowl Sunday fly fishing the Wilson River in on the North Coast of Oregon. First we fished Just below Jordan Creek Bridge. Despite the low water conditions we were able to pull three bright wild steelies out of the water, and lost one other(all on orange egg patters). We thought it couldn't get any better and we did fish a couple of holes with zero success until we reached Kansas Creek Bridge. Here we tied into two more steelies, a six pound hatchery and a 15 plus wild buck. After running into a couple of friends who had also caught a half dozen fish we continued downstream and lost one more fish after a good fight and landed one last hatchery fish good for the smoker. Wow the Wilson is hot in early Feburary.
