Current Report
I fished both 4th of July and Hogcayon Lakes recently and the larger fish are coming out of 4th of July. It is slow fishing with fly gear. Midge patterns and leech patterns are working and the rainbows are 15 to 20 inches and very deep in the body. The fish at Hogcanyon are taking Aftershaft flies fished deep and are about 12 to 15 inches. From day to day the ice conditions on these lakes change, so hike around until you find the type of open water you prefer. This El Nino winter seems to be making it difficult for boat and float-tubers to get out on the water.
