Lamprey River throws a Sucker punch

Current Report
Last week a friend of mine and I were fishing the Lamprey River in So. New Hampshire. Not much action, whatever the fish were feeding on was a lot smaller than anything we had. The only fish for the day was a sucker, gave my buddy quite a good run for his money and he finally prooved to himself that you actually can catch and land a fish on a fly rod. We went out this past weekend, and after again not much luck, found a small pool that had some nice brookies in them. The colours were magnificent. I heard a rumor that the hatcheries are giving them a special diet that enhances the colours. I wonder if this rumour is substantiated or not?? testerhall@comcast.net
