Current Report
I fished this morning with John Anderson from Lincoln, Nebraska. The wind was blowing pretty good so I decided to head to protected waters. A tall mangrove covered shoreline did the trick. The snook were tucked under the mangroves and held tight to them all morning. John had to drop the fly within a foot or less, if not they wouldnt come out and get it. A few branches were caught, one log, and six snook to about 8 lbs. He had a handful of snook hit the fly but just didnt get hooked up. They were aggressive if that fly was within a foot of the mangrove This was john's first time fishing in saltwater and he did real well. A six snook morning is good anywhere. Small menhaden patterns are working very well. John is coming back tomorrow to try and land his first tarpon so the snook were just a warm up (hopefully)
