Current Report
The fish are still onto the
black Stimulators for some
reason, even though there
are very few large bugs on
the water. A black
Stimulator with a
black/copper or black/silver
zebra midge on the dropper
has been especially
effective of late, with
plenty of strikes coming on
the dry. Small ginger or
pink scuds have also
produced fish in the riffles
where the fish will not take
the midges. Deep nymphing
has been necessary in the
deeper water along the
channel side and at the
bottom of the riffles. A
large scud or San Juan worm
on 6X and a small zebra
midge off of the bend on 7X
with plenty of splitshot and
a yarn indicator has been
the best rig in these
sections. Drifting has been
necessary to reach some of
the fish holding in these
deeper areas.

Baitfish Report
Spin fishing has been a
little spotty of late. Large
amounts of trout are
focusing on the surface.
Floating rapalas in orange
and rainbow have been
drawing strikes. Kastmasters
and jigs cast along the
rocky banks have taken some
large trout. Bouncing flies
(eggs,scuds, and worms) off
of the bottom using a bell
sinker or surgical tubing
and lead has also been quite
effective. Take lots of
tackle and be prepared to
fine tune your tactics upon
arrival. I highly suggest
being diligent with maribou
jigs (black, brown, and
olive) in weights of 1/4,
1/8, 1/16 oz. Jigs
consistantly take large fish
here. Good luck and stop by
the flyshop for any of your
last minute needs
