Current Report

LEES FERRY THIS PAST WEEK
With our group of ten anglers this past we caught 15 fish in the 16" range, 22 fish 17-18" and 1-21 Bow. We quit counting the 12-14 inchers but there were plenty of them and on a 3-4 wt rod they are a blast to catch. The water color is off womewhat with the run off coming into the Lake so stay close to the bottom on those drifts.

Eggs and worms are still working (tan or light brown) and the eggs are (pale yellow or cheese color). For the streamers, black or olive on 15' sink tip are still great drifiting. Drys use a #12-#14 Royal Wulff or Bill's Gorilla or even an elk hair stimulator fly in the shady areas of the Canyon.

When fishing with Bill ask him to show yo how he targets "bigger" fish on the Dry's. Don't forget after April 1 the flows are back to normal so look for improved conditions and for some big brown trout reports!

SPIN Use 2-4 lb. test line with 1/8 oz lead head jigs. Doing the best and some really nice fish (28" being caught). Kastmasters, large glow bugs and worms doing nicely as well.

<lake powell Lake Powell is getting an early runoff and angling opportunities this Spring have started!. 2 & 3 lb smallmouth are being caught off rip rap and bushes and huge tmbleweed piles that get blown into caves. Chartreuse and pumpkin Yammamoto plastics working best.

Sale Information
We are please to provide a great Fly Rod by the "Route 37" Company located in Michigan. Their Fly Rods come in various series and the prices are "fantastic". They fish like your Sage or your Orvis" but for much less the cost. The craftsmanship is excellent and you won't find a better rod to fish with. They craft their rods stateside and even the blanks. No "overseas" made rod. Something that is hard to find these days. I will be demenstrating them on the Boat for my customers. We will be featuring them on our website shortly. So, keep checking back.

Special Events
Due to the popularity for Stripers on the Fly, we are booking from July through November. Up lake trips are minimum 3 days but well worth the time. Bigger and better fish on the lower end of the San Juan. We can build a trip to meet "your" needs. If you are on a Houseboat Trip, plan to have Bill come and get you from your destination point for a great trip on Lake Powell. Call us for more details.
