Current Report
Float tubed Portal Sat May 24. Slow activity. Fished #12-14 Pheasant Tail, Hare's Ear, Prince Nymph with sinking line. Also #12 Muddler and Wolly Bugger. Nothing. Saw bait fisherman catch 2 small trout. Few if any rises. Water still quite cold. Could only stay in 2 hours even with insulation. Sunny with high clouds. Fished Upper San Joaquin down from Mono Hot Springs. Same flies. Water flows moderate, easily wadeable. One or two bumps, no hook ups. Saw no fish in the river at all. No rises. Where's the fish?
