Current Report
Most streams are high and dirty and almost unfishable due to massive rains on 8/22 and daily showers since. One exception is the Castle River above Beaver Mines (the town), which still runs clear. Fish away from the camping areas if solitude is appreciated. There are several Mayfly hatches coming off in the afternoon, from a #20 Baetis to an unidentified hatch about #12. Fish are not taking dries, but will take a dark emerger, about #14. Few fish on hoppers, some on nymphs. If nymphing, you will need split-shot. Water is clean, but high. This section of river has Cutts, Bows, and Cuttbows, all mixed together in the same spots. Most fish are 10-16" with a few larger.
