Bow River Fishing Report August 29, 2004 Phone: (403) 288-6190 Email: webmaster@reelflyfishing.com URL: http://www.reelflyfishing.com Our Fishing Report The 22X to Carseland drift on Sunday was a challenging day on the Bow. The fishing started out good in the morning using streamers then slowed down considerable towards the middle of the day. Based on our conversions with a number of boats it appeared to be a relatively tough day of fishing for many due to the fast, murky and weedy water conditions. The encouraging thing is that the river does appear to be clearing up. There were rises towards the evening however the majority were smaller fish. Visibility of the water was approximately 2 -3 ft above the Highwood and far less towards McKinnon. There are still alot of weeds floating on the South bank of the river. Favourite patterns were San Juans, caddis partridge emerger, black Bow River Bugger, clousers (black and olive), elkhaired caddis, There were lots of Tricos during the day and some caddis appeared toward the evening. There were plenty of grasshoppers in the grass but failed to bring many fish to the surface. HAVE A GREAT DAY OF FISHING!!!
