Bow River Fishing Report September 7, 2004 Phone: (403) 288-6190 Email: webmaster@reelflyfishing.com URL: http://www.reelflyfishing.com Our Fishing Report The Policeman to McKinnon drift on Monday was one the best days we have had on the Bow in a while. The fishing pretty was steady all day with both streamers and nymphs. The river is definitely clearing but still running pretty high. There is still a considerable amount of weeds but not unmanagable. Towards the evening we did a bit of dry fly fishing a managed to catch a couple of 20 inch plus fish however the majority were smaller fish. Visibility of the water was approximately 3 - 4 ft above the Highwood and just slightly less towards McKinnon. There were lots of Tricos and some BWOs during the day and some caddis towards the evening. There were plenty of hoppers in the grass but still failed to produce alot of rises. Favourite patterns were , large black or purple Bow River Buggers, clousers (black and olive), marabou zonkers, sanjuans, caddis partridge emerger, elkhaired caddis, HAVE A GREAT DAY OF FISHING!!!
