Current Report
Bow River Report – August 11, 2007 Cooler, rainy weather earlier this week gave us just what we needed. Cooler water temperatures and cloudy days and the river lit up pretty good. There are very good Trico spinner falls in the mornings. The cooler the morning, the later the spinner fall. Rising fish on caddis has been good, particularily on the cloudy days. Starting to see more Hopper eats so a Hopper/Dropper is not a bad way to go. A small (14 or 16) tungsten bead nymph has been fairly productive of late, especially in the riffles and seams. There have been lots of Pseudo Mayflies in the afternoons with a few fish eating them and on the rainy days late last wee we even saw Baetis (already!). Streamer fishing was very good on the cloudy days but is even worthwhile on the sunny days. Cooler temperatures forecast over the next week will likely be a big boost for fishing. ** Please remember, with warmer water temperatures it is very important to land fish quickly and take extra care in their release.

One-Week Fishing Forecast
Cooler daytime temperatures and very cool nights forecast fro the next week will surely help the fishing.
