Current Report
If you have an itch to catch some nice trout on dry flies, the Little Red may be the place to go right now. I heard the White was generating constantly over the weekend. So, I fished the Little Red on Sunday at Cow Shoals and Pangourn (sp?) Bridge. The caddis were fluttering around starting at about 10am and sporatically throughout the day. I was having the most success with a size 16 or 14 olive soft hackle caddis pupa imitation. I also had success with an olive bodied caddis with a deer hair wing and a yellow trailng shuck. They were biting on the grey scuds as usual, and there was also a ton of midges around, but i was not able to match the hatch. The rainbows are out in full force, although i did catch a few browns and a brookie as well. If you plan on heading that way, make sure to secure any valuables in you car because mine was broken into. I lost about $1500 worth of stuff and they even took my beer. What is this world coming to?
