Current Report
The trophy section on the Watauga River has been fishing very well. We are catching trout on nymphs and terrestrials mostly. With the rains we have had, it has been muddy some. We are fishing the upper Watauga and the South Holston when the trophy section is off- color. The South Holston has beenfishing well, with heavy sulpher hatches in the afternoon. This makes for a good half day float. The trout only seem to be feeding well when the bugs are hatching. Also, remember that East Tennessee Fly Fishing is offering shuttle services for the Watauga and South Holston rivers. So, if you are planning on floating one of these rivers yourself, East tennessee Fly Fishing can move your truck and trailer to the take- out.
