Current Report
Blue Ridge Mountains Fishing has been up and down lately. Things really slowed down since the warm spell in mid January. Weather conditions are more seasonable now. Water temps have been in the upper 30’s which makes for slower than slow fishing. We have still been catching natives but nothing like in January. C-K nymphs along with Tellico nymphs have been the best producers. Monday (2-21-2k5) we saw Quill Gordon’s coming up. We were on a larger flow of water and the water temperature was 46.Fish was rising to them and we managed to net a couple. Love that dry fly!! With spring just around the corner give me a call to fish a day or two or just for fishing info. FYI-they just stocked the Delayed Harvest section of the Hardware River in Fluvanna County. I happened to be there and got to see some nice fish being released. Currently we are preparing to gear up for smallmouth. We will keep you posted as we start to fish for this great fish.
