Current Report
The South Holston
river is fishing
extremely good right now,
and the fishing will
continue to be good all
summer long. Sulphurs are
pouring off both on low and
high water. Fishing are
really feeding up on the
Sulphurs right now. Numbers
of fish are being caught
with big fish rising to the
Sulphurs. We had a trip the
last to days where the guys
caught about 40 fish a
piece. We also caught a
22" rainbow during the
Sulphur hatch on a dry fly.
Before the hatch starts fish
are feeding on the nymphs
and they are looking up.
They will come up and hit a
Sulphur dry before the hatch
even starts.
The Watauga river is also
fishing very well right now.
There are Sulphurs still
coming off on both low and
high water. The trout are
also feeding heavily on
nymphs during the day. We
have a had a shot at a
30" Brown a couple
times but have not been able
to get a hook in him. But
what a thrill to see and
cast at a fish that size.
The Fishing doesn't get much
better then this.
