Current Report
Spent 3 days flyfishing for Smallies on the North Fork, thank God for creek chubs. Talked to many locals who are wondering where the fish are? One older native told us there has been a fish kill, another young fella asked if we had seen "sores" on any of our fish? This was not encouraging. Went to all the places the local shop mentioned.....poor results. No smallies larger than 9" and very few and far between. The water temps and clarity were very good, cool part cloudy days. Evenings were excellent with large bug hatches. Other than the high methylmercury levels in the fish/water, has anyone heard about problems with the smallmouth population?
