Current Report
Up until this latest extreme cold snap, the late fall fishing had been excellent. With the next warm spell (relatively speaking) fishing should once again be good on both the Henry's Fork below Vernon bridge and the South Fork above Heise bridge. Dead drifting midge nymphs sized 16 to 22, dressed in blacks, reds, and olives and fished in the deeper runs and pools is usually the most effective fishing method during this time of the year on both streams. At times other methods and flies can also be effective. On the warmest days dryfly fishing with various adult and emerging midge patterns is possible especially as we get into late-Febuary/March. Hopefully these early season deep snows are a indication that our western drought might finally be coming to a end. Tight lines, Rob
