Williams Fork River

Current Report
The Williams Fork was running at about 90 CFS. There was cloud cover with a temperature in the mid forties. This means Baetis on this stretch of river. At about 10:30 the Blue Wings began hatching and the trout were looking up. My son kept a size 20 Pheasant Tail and a Barr's Emerger on, fished deep in the beaver dam pool. He caught fish this with this rig. I placed a Parachute Adams with a Baetis Emerger trailing and caught fish with both flies. I continued to fish the remainder of the afternoon with a dry fly and caught several nice Browns. The best fly was a Baetis Comparadun. We moved up river a ways and found several more trout rising in the shallow riffles. It was a good day on the William's Fork which is always a great bet in the spring when the other rivers are beginning to blow out with runoff.
