Description
I find that fish like BIG
meals when ever and where
ever they can get them, and
this beetle delivers time
after time. Different types
of beetles can be found from
the beginning of spring all
the way to the end of fall,
this makes them a much more
important food source than
the old favorite, The
hopper. I prefer to fish
this fly over any hopper I
have seen, even the
Kickin Hopper. This beetle
is the best producing
terrestrial that I have ever
used. Being a fly fisherman,
I am
disappointed to see that
there are very few good
terrestrial patterns.
Grasshoppers seem to be the
only terrestrial that is
tied in many different
creative patterns. I have
created this fly as a way to
break the mold, and give fly
fisherman everywhere a
beetle that they WANT to
fish. I have fished this fly
throughout the western
United States with great
success. It catches Rainbow
Trout, Brown Trout, Golden
Trout, Large and Small Mouth
Bass, and many different
types of Pan Fish. Because
of its great floating
properties it makes a great
fly to fish as an indicator,
dropping even large nymphs
off of it. The high
visibility post makes it a
great fly to cast a long
distance. This fly is a
really fun fly to fish
because the fish
dont just
lightly take the fly, they
NAIL it, hard and fast. It
also works as a popping bug
on lakes. This fly is as
much for the fisherman as it
is for the fish, and a must
for all serious fly anglers.
