Post a Fly | My Flies
Sandy's Mite

Submitted by Sandy Pittendrigh

Description
This is a quick and dirty (easy to tie) imitation of the Pott woven hackle wet fly: the Sandy Mite

Recipe

HOOK: #10-#14 2x long nymph
THREAD: brown 6/0
BODY: two-tone rubberlegs wound
HACKLE: Fox Squirrel

Tying Instructions
Stack a small clump of Fox Squirrel. Tie it on running forward past the eye of the hook. Wrap the body with two color-contrasting strands of rubberleg material. Pull the hair back. Wrap a thread head behind the eye. Whip finish. Add a micro-drop of CA glue. This might be a good imitation of a mite. Sandy's Might.
