Located on banks of the world famous Kenai River, the Great Alaska Adventure Lodge is perhaps one of Alaska's most recognizable fishing destinations. Their guests hold (or have held) over half a dozen IGFA line class records on trophy Chinook, Silver and Sockeye salmon. ESPN outdoors, Celebrity outdoors, Woods and Waters and Flyfishing the world (among others) have documented our angling and adventure travel programs. Guests have included the likes of Jim Teeny, Steve Rajeff, John Simms, Brian O'Keefe, Chris Batin, Jim Repine, Dick Butkus, Steve Bartkowski and many others. With 11 target species to choose from, 6 rivers and 2 saltwater locations, 9 overlapping salmon runs and 60 years combined local experience from the 3 owners, Great Alaska Adventure Lodge offers unbelievable variety and consistency of experience. Every day arrivals, 2-10 day packages (with airport transfers) and realistic pricing (without the need for daily fly outs) combine with fantastic meals, nightly happy hour, comfortable riverfront accommodations and the very best in equipment and personnel to create a program that has brought their guests back time and again.
Accommodations
The Great Alaska main lodge is perched on 25 private acres of incredible Kenai riverfront, with the rivers' finest shore fishing for trophy kings available right in front of the cabins. Kings to 70 pounds have succumbed to flies swung by their guests, along with uncountable numbers of Sockeye, Silver and Pink salmon. As one of a handful of permitted operators on the incredible upper Kenai's Wildlife Refuge stretch, we target trophy Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden (char) from custom drift boats.
Location
In addition to the main lodge, Great Alaska maintains 3 remote camps that can combine with a stay at the main lodge for dynamite 5 or 7-day trips. Our now-famous bear viewing camp in Lake Clark National Park offers some of the most outrageous fly-fishing imaginable for Silver and Chum salmon. Repeat guests have become enamored of the ability to target silver salmon on "waked" surface flies in August and September!
