Mountain lakes and streams abound the "High Peaks" region of the Adirondack Park. Native brook trout and Lake trout abound in this region as well as brown trout, rainbow trout, steel head & landlock salmon, northern pike, small & large mouth bass, and panfish.

Accommodations
Picturesque Inn on Lake Placid offering comfortably appointed rooms, kitchenettes, suites & cottages. We have a professional outdoor guide service which includes fly fishing guides, fly fishing school & trophy fishing charters. We have canoes, outdoor pool, large lounging/recreational area & a plethora of great packages for fishing, golf, skiing, & Olympic Sites. Walk to shops & restaurants.

Location
Placid Bay Inn is directly on Lake Placid and in Lake Placid.The Olympic Village is the jewel of the Adirondack Park. We are a 2 hour drive north of Albany, New York or 2 hours south of Montreal, Canada.

Season
We are open year-round. The best time to travel depends on "What do you want to do today?" Trout fishing really gets going in the middle of May and continues through October. June & September offer some of the best hatches and scenic beauty. We also offer discounted packages on accommodations for those months.

Directions
Coming from Albany or south, take I87 (Adirondack Northway) north to exit 30. Turn left from the off ramp following Rt. 73 (28 miles) to Lake Placid. Rt. 73 will bring you into Lake Placid. At the 1st traffic light turn left onto Main St. Go down Main St. to it's end, then bare left onto Saranac Ave. This is the road we are on. Go up Saranac Ave. and we will be on the right hand side of the road.

Other Activities
Lake Placid has unique shops for shopping, touring Olympic Sites, mountain biking, historic & natural sites, golf, concerts & theater, hundreds of lakes & rivers for canoeing & outdoor fun; winter has both downhill & x-c skiing, skating, tabogganning, bobsled rides, snowmobiling & great apres ski activies. Lake Placid has all the amenities of a European Alpine village, yet can rival the national parks for wilderness and beauty.

Length of Stay
You can stay for one day, a week or longer. Minimums may apply during special events or holidays.

Capacity
Placid Bay Inn accommodates up to 60 people. We have a 2 and 3 bedroom cottages that each sleep up to 6 persons; one & two bedroom suites, cozy kitchenettes for 2, and lakeside rooms with queen, king or 2 doubles.

Documentation Required
No special documention is needed when traveling to our area. It is an extremely safe area for all ages.

Rates
Rates vary depending on the season you are traveling. High season rates are $75-180 per night and Low seson is $55-$160, based on double occupancy. You can go to our web site & click on our"check Availability" button and this will give you exact prices.

Inclusions
We offer discounted rates for lodging/guide service packages. All rooms include full bath/shower, color cable TV, telephone, self control heat/air, use of canoes, outdoor pool, lounging/recreational area & other amenities.

Deposit
We require a deposit of 50% of booking. This can be put on your Master, Visa, American Express or Discover card, or you can send a personal check if time permits.
